Planned Rail Alliance in Europe a Boon for Travelers

“RailTeam” is the name given to the new alliance formed by the High-speed Train industry that hopes to bring a seamless high-speed rail system across Europe. Based on the Airline alliances such as Star Alliance, Skyteam and Oneworld, RailTeam will offers passengers easier connections, code shared service, a frequent rider program, a dedicated website and more.
The new rail alliance was announced by Guillaume Pepy, CEO of SNCF (French National Railways) and chairman of Eurostar. Pepy said details of the alliance would be announced in June. At this time, a memorandum of understanding has already been signed by high-speed rail services in France, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Britain.
