Germany’s Major Cities Lure Tourists Through the Web
Germany is on a mission to bring more tourists to their country and has launched several websites to accomplish that purpose. These websites focus on different aspects of the country. In my earlier post, I highlighted the Historic Cities website which is a great site for those interested in visiting or just learning about the smaller historic towns of Germany.
The Magic Cities website gives readers a great introduction to the major cities of Germany. Featured cities are: Hamburg, Hannover, Berlin, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Koln (Cologne), Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich.
This site includes an overview of each city with highlighted events and suggestions for themed visits to each city. Themes include Art and Culture, Events and Festivals, Fairs and Conventions, Lifestyle and Entertainment, Culinary and Shopping.
Three travel routes are highlighted: The Museum Route that takes you from Berlin to Frankfurt and Hannover and emphasizes word-class museums. The Music Route includes the cities of Hamburg, Cologne and Stuttgart. My favorite, The Best Liquid Route, -I did not make that name up- takes you to the best restaurants, wine stube’s and beer gardens in Dresden, Dusseldorf and Munich.
The German Tourist Office has a very informative website as well. So, if you want to learn more about this country, the web makes it easy.

Having lived in germany for 17 years I would say that it is truly an undiscovered gem. From skiing in the alps to windsurfing in one of the many inland lakes, from the beer halls of munich to the picturesque bars on the isle of rugen and from the bratwurst to the rotwurst, well there’s an awful lot to discover!
It is a shame people will find out about Germany really, but I suppose tourism is good for the country!
Brilliant site, have been quietly following for quite a while.
