Fly for Almost Free in Europe

Terri March 10th, 2007

Low-cost airlines are springing up across Europe, most of which seem to be coming from Great Britain. These airlines are offering unbelievable pricing, as low as $10 one way to fly to various destinations in Europe. (You read that right, I was not missing a zero. RyanAir has a special for 5 pounds one way, taxes included) You can book your tickets on-line and save a bundle with these low-cost winners!

RyanAir : Lots of choices for where to go in Europe from this cut-rate airline.

Easy Jet: Amazing prices from London to all over Europe. EasyJet is a no-frills airline, but the prices make it worth it.

Bmibaby : Another British airline (offshoot of British Midland) offering cheap flights throughout Europe.

Jet2 : Flights from Belfast, Blackpool, Edinburgh and more to destinations throughout Europe.

Europe By Air: This Company represents many carriers in Europe. You can fly anywhere on their route map for $99 each way (plus taxes)

Flybe from the UK  Lots of European destinations at great prices.

Germanwings, recommended by one of our readers, is another great choice for flights around Europe.

Smart Wings  A low-cost airline with a  modern fleet located  at the Prague airport.  Flies to  destinations all over Europe. They guarantee the highest standards of safety.

Norwegian Air Shuttle from Norway. Europe-wide flights.

MyAir.com from Italy.  Domestic and  international flights

There is even a search engine that scopes out the best fares for inexpensive airlines.
WeGoLo  is the name…try it out!

I am always adding to this list so, if you know of any other cheap airlines, let us know. Don’t be afraid to share your secret…the more people who travel on these airlines, the longer they will stay flying – and that is good for all of us!

Don’t forget the excellent GermanWings , which flies to European destinations from Cologne and Munich. Have flown them several times now and have been very satisfied — nice planes, courteous staff, good service at a very low price. Like Ryanair, but with seats that still recline. :)
