The best hotels in Barcelona are generally considered to be in the centrally located neighborhoods of La Rambla or the nearby La Barceloneta, the old town area near the water. Both are good places to bed down within easy walking distance of many main sights, the scenic waterfront and the Olympic venues.
Most hotel staff can speak some English although Spanish and Catalan are preferred. All signs are in Catalan and Spanish. Barcelona’s public transportation system gives easy access to all areas of the city.
