Where to Stay in Krakow, Poland

Yes, you absolutely can find amazing deals on comfortable hotels in the center of Krakow, Poland. When we visited the city, two friends and I stayed in a family-run hotel, just a few blocks from the Main Market Square, for $60 a night. Below, you will find some similar deals on Krakow hotels, as well as a few luxurious hotel listings. The historic center is the best place to find accommodations in Krakow and some of the nicest accommodations look out on Planty Park, a delightful park that surrounds the city center. If you’re looking for true budget accommodations, check out the Kazimierez neighborhood.

Though Poland became a part of the European Union in 2004, it has yet to completely convert its currency to the euro. It uses both the euro and the zloty; one zloty  is roughly .29 dollars. The following hotels are listed by their number of stars. Hotel star ratings are standardized in Poland by the Hotelstars Union, which standardizes star ratings throughout most of Europe. These ratings are objective, focusing primarily on the number of rooms in a hotel, and other similar facts. They do not reflect charm or the friendliness of hotel staff.

Sodispar Service Apartments – 2 Star
These apartments stand out for comfort and price. The location of the apartments varies – apartment to apartment – (usually between a 25-minute walk to a 5-minute walk to the city center), so make sure to find out what’s available. If you are a light sleeper, don’t hesitate to ask for a quiet apartment. Apartments are very clean and most include kitchens. This is a great option for budget travelers!

Sheraton Krakow 5 Stars
With dark wood furniture, red carpets in the rooms, and a sauna, swimming pool, and fitness center on site; you know you’re staying in a Sheraton. It has all of the comforts of a world-class hotel and, it should be noted, when inside the hotel, you do not necessarily feel like you are in Poland. Views from your room of the Wawel Castle and the Vistula River can solve this, however. The hotel is just a five-minute walk to Wawel Castle and a 15-minute walk to Main Market Square.
