7 Supershots of Europe
Thanks to The Spain Scoop, we’re taking part in Hostelbookers 7 supershots contest. We have some great shots we took while traveling in Europe and we’ll tell you why we love them.
This photo of the calanques takes my breath away
This photo was taken on our recent trip toFrance’s Provence and Languedoc Roussillon regions. The natural beauty of the calanques along the Mediterranean is simply stunning.
This photo of a man with his dog makes me smile
We just had to take this photo because the little dog looked just like our own dog, Taffy, who we were missing while on our trip. Taffy likes to sit alongside us on public benches while we take rests as well.
A photo that…makes me dream
I love this photo because it was taken on a perfect day last year. We were on vacation with our son and daughter in law in France and we had a wonderful time. It makes me dream of taking more vacations with our adult kids and grand-kids.
A photo that…makes me think
Taken in Paris, this photo made me wonder who thought of this artistic Erupting Pavement installation. Paris is a city of art; it has amazing architecture, amazing statues and artwork around almost every corner. I love discovering art in unusual places.
A photo that…makes my mouth water
Poilane is one of the most prestigious boulangeries in Paris. From hearty breads to sumptuous croissants, Poilane can’t be beat. Passing its window will make my mouth water every time.
A photo that…tells a story
Despite being one of the most popular animals in the world, pandas are threatened by unsustainable development and loss of habitat. An estimated 1,600 giant pandas remain in the wild today, demonstrated by this graphic display by the World Wildlife Federation in Lyon a few years ago.
A photo that…I am most proud of (aka my worthy of National Geographic shot)
I love this photo of Cortona that I took a few years ago. It was overcast, but you can still see the countryside in the background. The tiled roof and tower evoke a feeling of stability and long-lost grandeur.
